same author similar idea: “Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.” but "in the depth..." seem to suggests something more than autosuggestion or the power of perspective. it might be the hint of permanence that's so riveting, or perhaps it's the hot-air balloon.

maybe both :)
i can only hope that the permanence, the invincibility! is true of me. i suppose it's only truly put to the test when winter comes..
